Water Damage Checklist Items
- Shut the water off immediately if the water damage is caused by an appliance failure or some other source that may utilize your home or business' water.
- Call SON BRIGHT SYSTEMS right away! It is crucial that the water damaged areas be dried within the first 24 hours in order to avoid a bad situation from getting worse. After 24 hours the water damage can become more severe and irreversible.
- Contact your insurance company in order to determine whether or not the incident is covered under your insurance.
A little bit of water damage can cause SERIOUS health issues if not treated properly, depending on the class of water damage and the conditions of the home. All drying methods are different, it may take 2 days for one house and a week for another. The bottom line is you never know. An estimate of the damage from water is just that - an educated guess. Due to the conditions in each home, estimates cannot be given over the phone; we must see the source of the leak and take into account many factors. This is why we need to see the job before anything can be established. However, rest assured that since our techs are IICRC Certified we will be as forthcoming as we can.
